Kelaniya will be closed until further notice

The administration of the University of Kelaniya has taken steps to temporarily suspend the studies. The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Kelaniya said in a statement that the University of Kelaniya will be closed from December 4th at 2 pm, except for the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Kelaniya.

Also, until further notice, students are prohibited from entering the premises of the university including the Dalugama campus of the University of Kelaniya and all internal and external hostels of the university. It is hereby notified that disciplinary action was taken with the incident where a security officer working in the security department of the University of Kelaniya was abducted while he was sleeping in the lounge, detained, beaten and tied to the entrance gate to the student center and this step was taken to restore peace between the non-academic staff and the students.
