CESS tax on multiple items amended

The rate of CESS levy imposed on a total of 637 items under 187 HS codes has been amended with effect from November 15.
The Department of Immigration has announced that it has taken steps to raise foreign passport fees effective from today (17). Accordingly, the fee charged for obtaining a foreign travel permit under the one-day service ranges from Rs. 15,000 to Rs. 20,000 has been raised.
