The IGP reveal blatant bickering among the three senior DIGs to take over the IGP stakes

Senior DIG Nilantha Jayawardena was the next most senior officer in the Sri Lanka Police after the Inspector General of Police, has been appointed to cover the work of the Police administration Division which is the highest rank in the police after the Inspector General of Police. The appointment was made by the IGP yesterday.

The appointment is a stop-gap measure taken by the Inspector General of Police until a permanent officer is appointed to fill the vacancy created by the retirement of senior DIG Nandana Munasinghe from the police service on the 21st.
