Five experts appointed for Schaffer’s death

The Colombo Additional Magistrate ordered the appointment of a five-member expert committee, comprising Judicial Medical Officers, to prepare a report on the death of wealthy businessman Dinesh Schaftter.
The Additional Magistrate wanted the committee to take into Scaffter’s post-modem report after his family members said there were contradictions in the report. The Cid told Court that the injuries found on Schaftter’s body hinted that he had not been fatally strangled.
On February 14, Colombo Chief Magistrate’s Court ordered the Colombo Chief judicial medical officer and the Government Analyst to preserve the body parts of the deceased businessman.
