Yesterday(8) a tear gas attack to disperse the protests near Colombo University
The police fired tear gas at the protesting student activists on Reed Mawatha near Colombo University.
Traffic congestion was also reported from Tummulla Junction to Reed Mawatha due to a protest March organized by the University of Colombo Student Union earlier.
The demands of the unruly protesters were many such as the abolition of the ‘Ranil Wickramasinghe’ government and the cancellation of the Prevention of Terrorism Act(PTA) early elections and the tax reforms.
