Sri Lanka Government Revises Fuel Prices; Petrol 92 Reduced by Rs. 60 per Litre

In a recent development, the Sri Lankan government has announced a revision in fuel prices with effect from midnight today. As per the statement issued by the Energy Minister, the price of Petrol 92 has been reduced by Rs.60 per litre to Rs.340, while Auto Diesel has been reduced by Rs.80 to Rs.325. Additionally, Octane 95 has been reduced by Rs.135 to Rs.375, Super Diesel by Rs.45 to Rs.465, and Kerosene by Rs.10 to Rs.295.

Notably, Lanka IOC fuel prices have also been reduced in parallel to CEYPETCO fuel prices with effect from midnight today, as confirmed by LIOC. This decision is expected to provide relief to consumers who have been grappling with high fuel prices in recent times.

The revision in fuel prices comes amid rising global crude oil prices and increasing inflationary pressures in the country. The Sri Lankan government has been under pressure to provide relief to consumers, who have been bearing the brunt of high fuel prices. The reduction in fuel prices is expected to ease the burden on consumers and provide a much-needed respite from rising inflation
