The Association of Education Professionals has taken the initiative to resume the evaluation process for the 2022 (2023) G.C.E. Advanced Level examination answer sheets. The process had been halted for over 40 days, causing concern among students, parents, and teachers. The decision to restart the evaluation process was made following a meeting between the association and the Minister of Education on April 3rd.

According to Ven. Ulapane Sumangala Thero, the President of the National Union Against Teacher-Principal Pay Disparity, the Minister of Education has agreed to provide a daily allowance to the teachers engaged in the evaluation process. Teachers who live within 80 km will receive an allowance of Rs. 2,000, while those who travel more than 80 km will receive an allowance of Rs. 2,900 per day.

The decision to resume the evaluation process and provide a daily allowance to the teachers is expected to bring relief to the concerned parties. The delay in the evaluation process had caused anxiety among the students and their families, and it is hoped that the resumption of the evaluation process will bring clarity and certainty to the situation.
