Showers or thundershowers are also expected in other areas of the country during the afternoon or night.

The Western province, as well as Galle and Matara districts, may experience showers in the morning as well. The public is advised to take precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.

Wind speed will be 20-30 kmph, with south-westerly winds prevailing over sea areas around the island. The sea areas around the island are expected to be slight to moderate, but temporarily strong gusty winds and very rough seas can be expected during thundershowers.
