Minor Earth Tremor of Magnitude 4.4 Reported Near Hambantota Coast

A minor earth tremor measuring 4.4 on the Richter Scale was reported at 12:45 a.m. today (April 24) approximately 25.8 kilometres off the coast of Hambantota, Sri Lanka. The Geological Survey and Mines Bureau has assured the public that there are no tsunami threats as a result of this tremor.
