NBRO Issues Landslide Warnings for Galle District

The National Building Research Organization (NBRO) has issued landslide early warnings for multiple areas in Galle District. A Level 01 (Yellow) warning has been issued to Baddegama, Elpitiya, Nagoda, and Yakkalamulla Divisional Secretariat Divisions, along with their surrounding areas. The warning is in effect for a 24-hour period until 08.00 a.m. today (May 22).

Residents residing in these landslide-prone areas are strongly advised by the NBRO to exercise extra caution and remain prepared to evacuate swiftly to safe locations if heavy rainfall persists.
