President Ranil Wickremesinghe embarks on a bilateral visit to Japan and Singapore to strengthen relations between the countries. In Japan, he will meet Prime Minister Fumio Kishida and discuss investment projects.

President Wickremesinghe will also address the Nikkei Forum FUTURE OF ASIA, focusing on Asia’s role in addressing global challenges. In Singapore, he will hold discussions with Prime Minister Lee-Hsien Loong and government officials. The President aims to seek Japan’s assistance in establishing a Maha Vihara University to study Theravada Buddhism, with support from countries like Thailand and Bhutan.
