In a significant move to address Sri Lanka’s fuel supply challenges, the country has signed a contract agreement with Sinopec, a leading international petroleum company. The agreement, signed today, ensures a steady and uninterrupted fuel supply for the nation. The Ministry of Power and Energy took this decisive action in response to the ongoing foreign exchange crisis, which posed challenges for the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) and Lanka Indian Oil Company (LIOC).

The agreement allows Sinopec, along with its affiliated companies, to commence operations within 45 days, bringing hope for a more stable and reliable fuel supply in Sri Lanka.
