Janaka Ratnayake Removed as PUCSL Chairman: Vows to Run for Presidential Election
Janaka Ratnayake, Chairman of the Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka (PUCSL), addressed the media following his removal from the post by a parliamentary motion. Ratnayake stated that his ousting was not a personal defeat but a setback for the Sri Lankan people.
Undeterred, he announced his intention to run for the upcoming presidential election. The motion to remove Ratnayake received 123 votes in favour and 77 against, resulting in his removal.
