The Japanese Foreign Minister’s visit to Colombo port strengthens bilateral relations
Japanese Foreign Minister Hon. Kamikawa Yoko paid a courtesy visit to Colombo Port during his official visit to Sri Lanka. The visit, which took place on 04 May 2024, was warmly received by the distinguished officials including the Managing Director of Sri Lanka Ports Authority, Mr. Prabhat J. Malavige. During the visit, enhancing cooperation on maritime trade and infrastructure development was discussed. Minister Kamikawa Yoko expressed Japan’s strong interest in further investment in Sri Lanka’s port infrastructure in line with Sri Lanka’s strategic location along major international shipping lanes.
