50 train journeys will be canceled due to the strike

Today (07) nearly 50, morning train journeys are being canceled due to the locomotive driver’s professional action. This amount is going to increase further in the evening and the main reason for this is that new recruitments cannot be made due to the fact that the locomotive driver recruitment procedure has not been prepared based on the decision of the Cabinet approved on 05-09-2018. Due to the continuous delay of the actions taken to give promotions to the second class of locomotive drivers who are currently in the third class with the intervention of the former railway general manager Mr. HKW Bandara, many trains that should run daily are canceled and the management does not pay proper attention to the delay.
