A train derailed in Panadura
A train derailed near Panadura railway station and the coastal railway line has been completely blocked.
A slow train number 8339 running from Panadura to Maradana derailed. One of the train’s coaches hit the nearby signal board and the system was completely disabled.
A railway spokesman said it would take considerable time to restore the track
