A train derails on the Upland Railway

Due to a derailment, the train running on the upland route has been disrupted. Yesterday (29) at 06.30 pm from Badulla railway station, the mail train which was running towards Colombo Fort derailed between Galabada and Iguruoya railway stations.
The train derailed at around 1.15 in the morning and due to this the train running on that route has been disrupted.

As a result, two short-distance train journeys have been canceled and the railway derailment work is currently being carried out, the railway department added.
