President’s phone call to congratulate Chamari Athapattu.

Sri Lanka women’s women’s cricket team won the first Twenty20 Asia Cup title by winning the match against the current champion India by 8 wickets at the Rangiri Dambulla International Cricket Stadium yesterday.

President Ranil Wickremesinghe made an immediate phone call and extended his warm congratulations to the Sri Lankan women’s cricket team including Chamari Athapattu for their historic victory in the Asia Cup women’s cricket tournament.

President said, “Your unbeaten run is a testament to your talent, dedication and teamwork. You have made our nation proud!”
