A mob vandalized a government hospital during a midnight protest by doctors against the recent rape and murder of a Doctor in Kolkata. RG said that the emergency ward of the medical college and hospital was destroyed.

As the protest turned violent last night, the police fired tear gas and lathi charges.

It was seen how stones were thrown at the hospital premises and several police officers were covered in blood. An official said they tried to prevent the mob, which included dozens of unidentified men, from entering the hospital. But it was not possible.
