Two drones are shot down while the ‘Esala Perehara’ is on its way

The Kandy Police have arrested a person who tried to take pictures by pointing a drone camera above the ‘Dalada Maligawa’ last night while visiting the Randoli Maha Perahera of the Esala Perahera in Kandy.

The Air Force used a drone jammer to bring down the drone. After a subsequent search found the drone camera on hotel premises not far from Dalada Madura. Meanwhile, on the day of the third Randori Perahera, two youths from Kandy’s Lake Circle were arrested after shooting down a drone camera on the border of the procession.
