The recovery of human bones found in the port of Colombo will begin today.

Colombo Chief Magistrate Thilina Gamage ordered the police to excavate the human bones found in front of the Colombo harbour under the supervision of an archaeology expert and a forensic officer yesterday.

The Magistrate issued this order following a complaint made by the Sri Lanka Port Authority that during the excavation work of the roundabout located in front of the Colombo Port Police Station, several bones and bone fragments of human bodies were found.
