Many reservoirs and rivers are overflowing
The Irrigation Department says many of the island’s reservoirs and rivers are overflowing. The engineer says that currently, water is being released in Danduru Oya Reservoir, which has a capacity of 32,145 cubic feet per second.
Mrs. Diltara also mentioned that the people of the lowlands belonging to Wariyapola, Nikaveratiya, Mahawa, Kobeigane, Bingiriya, Pallama, Halawata, Arachchikattuwa and Rasnayakapura divisions should be conscientious.
