Cyclone Zelia slams into Australia’s west coast

Tropical Cyclone Zelia made landfall on Australia’s west coast on Friday, the country’s weather bureau said, battering the world’s largest iron hub with heavy rain and winds of 290 kilometers per hour. Up to 300mm of rain is expected in the next 24 hours and up to 500mm over the next three days, which could deliver record rainfall to the resource-rich region of Western Australia, the bureau warned.
