Al Jazeera office raided in Israel

The Israeli cabinet led by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has decided to stop the activities of the Qatar-owned Al Jazeera channel in Israel. Accordingly, the Israeli police have raided a hotel room in Jerusalem that was used as a regional operational office of the ‘Al Jazeera channel.
The Israeli government’s decision includes closing the offices, confiscating broadcasting equipment, cutting the channel from cable and satellite companies and blocking its websites, it said.
The channel has reported 24-hour coverage of the entire war and is also said to have criticized Israel’s military operation in the Gaza Strip.
