South Asia’s largest maternity hospital will be opened by the President.

The new German-Sri Lanka Friendship Women’s Hospital built in Galle, Karapitiya, considered the largest maternity hospital in the South Asian region, was opened a little while ago under the chairmanship of President Ranil Wickramasinghe.
This six-storey hospital has 640 beds, six operating theaters and all modern medical facilities including emergency units, intensive care units, laboratories, infant intensive care units, and special pediatric units.
